Lecture outlines

Please read this carefully, as my use of Powerpoint differs from that of other professors. My Powerpoint outlines are NOT sufficiently detailed that you can miss a class and catch up just by looking at the slides. Mostly, I do this because I want the PPT slides to be a guide, not a replacement for my lectures. I despise presentations in which the speaker puts a bunch of words on Powerpoint slides and then reads those words to me. That's not an effective use of Powerpoint. I try to use mainly graphics, in fact, and a few words sprinkled throughout. In this way the slides complement what I'm trying to do in class.
